Poland Secures USD1.85B F-35 Support Package from U.S.

(MENAFN) The U.S. State Department has given the green light to a significant defense deal with Poland, approving a $1.85 billion package focused on maintenance, logistics, and support for F-35 fighter jets, the Polish Press Agency reported Tuesday.

According to information from the Pentagon's Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), General Electric Aerospace will oversee the contract’s operations. The DSCA emphasized that the sale "will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by enhancing the security of a NATO ally that continues to be an important force for political and economic stability in Europe."

Poland placed an order for 32 F-35 jets in 2020, with the first delivery arriving last year. These advanced aircraft, together with Poland’s existing F-16 fleet, are set to become the cornerstone of the Polish Air Force’s capabilities.
